Castles of England


Dotted along the English Countryside's and cities, many of England's greatest castles diverse in character that have stood the tests of time, the ravages of war and evolution of cultures now stand in the silence, a reminder of history and a great testimony to their builders and the noble men that once lived in them and fought bloody battles to protect them.

English Castles pepper the terrain of rolling hills, green pastures and cliffs, providing us a glimpse of a varying range of lifestyles from a time when chivalry was a culture on its own. The English are extremely proud of the castles and the rich history, culture and heritage that they bring to the world.

Ranging from tiny castles in Northumberland to the immensely large Raby Castle in County Durham Northumbria, the sizes and styles of castles are as varied and unique as the people of this island nation. Many of the castles dating back over 900 years each have their own unque history of a gruesome past and the occasional stories of a myriad of ghosts that haunt them.
